James Keene is a versatile soloist, chamber musician, and music pedagogue. Starting in high school, he has played solo, chamber, and orchestral performances for audiences throughout China, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and the USA. James appears regularly with New Haven Symphony in Connecticut, the Philly Pops, and is known in the New York metropolitan area as a performer and teacher. He attended Interlochen Arts Academy, Rutgers University, and the San Francisco Conservatory. Most recently, he won 1st place at the Russel Johnson Strings Competition in Philadelphia, PA and has shared the Carnegie Hall stage with Dionne Warwick. When not engaged with the violin, James can usually be found trail running or reading a book at home.
